New Genealogy site

Over the last week I put up a new Genealogy site. It is written in PHP (with MySQL as the data store) and I got it from TNG. It cost me $27. I'm not much good at PHP but here it is, an entire web application for tracking genealogy and it includes the ability for users to edit the data and upload images. I'd like to try to rewrite it in ASP.NET, but lets see how much time I have to work on that.

Today I did some research on genealogy files, genealogy software, the GEDCOM format and various resources I can use to manage my genealogy info.

I have set up a new page at www.jumano.com/genealogy as the starting point for links to different sources.

One thing I did was convert the GEDCOM file that I had created over a year ago into HTML using a conversion utility I found online. It is a utility named GED2HTML. I accessed the resulting output in FrontPage 2000 and applied a style theme to dress it up and posted it to the jumano genealogy site with a starting page of www.jumano.com/genealogy/surmanes.html.

A fellow named John Peeko (sp?) called and left a message from England. He said he was looking for a certain Chris Jefferies that he knew in the '70s. This Chris Jefferies was in the US Air Force based in England.
