Lost a car to a light runner so now we're driving a hybrid; around 40 miles per gallon so far. Fierce battle between our white blood cells and unidentified cold virus in last week; we appear to be prevailing. Set to sing for Orion's class before Thanksgiving; hope our voices are good by then; changed the strings on the guitar today. Ray, the movie, is good, at least as a way to say goodbye to Ray; they went too far on some things and not near far enough an a lot, but what can we expect from the movies anymore, though I was encouraged most of the way through.

Water water everywhere
And not a drop to drink
I don't know where I'm going
And I don't know what to think
I go here
I go there
I don't know why
I don't know where

Bob was waiting for his surrey.
It did not arrive.
The surrey was cancelled.
Bob asked the surrey stationmaster, “Will the surrey be here soon?”
The stationmaster answered, “No surrey, Bob.”

A pumpkin patch
Loaded with souls
Waiting to be free
We carve them out
And now they shout,
Happy Halloweeeeeen!

Surrounded by a sky unquestionably blue
Turtles look curiously for unusual food
Yellow ribbons say, "Do not enter."

Hello, All!
It occurred to me that those of us who are interested in living in a world of peace where civility and common sense prevail are in a way living in that kind of world right now. We still encounter and frequently have to deal with elements of life that are not interested in those things but that doesn't mean we have to be cold, indifferent and hopeless. The vast majority of us are doing a great, innocent job of trying to lead decent lives. We should commend ourselves and realize that cynicism does not undo good.
